Richard Sarvate

Although his last name was turned Mexican during an immigration debacle, Richard Sarvate is Indian. His tasteful absurdity has earned him the respect of both audiences and peers, who describe him as a “comic’s comic.” His act ranges from silly imaginings about taquerias serving fortune churros, to deep and introspective subjects like his mother’s schizophrenia. He does quirky observations, impressions, and surreal one-man sketches like "Man with kazoo steals Beethoven’s music" and an Indian version of “La Cucaracha.” Richard has entertained with national headliners including Roseanne Barr, Father Guido Sarducci, and Eddie Brill. He has performed in the Ventura Comedy Festival and is a regular at the Punch Line in his home town of San Francisco.
